This unique day trip combines both wildlife safari and Indian Ocean scenery, making it a one-of-a-kind experience in Tanzania. You’ll depart from Zanzibar on a flight to Saadani National Park, where elephants roam just a few meters away from sandy beaches. You’ll spend the day exploring the savannah, spotting lions, giraffes, buffalo, and antelopes, before relaxing along the coastline. It’s the only place in East Africa where you can enjoy a safari and a coastal landscape on the same trip.

Day 1

6:00–7:00 am— You’ll be picked up from your Zanzibar hotel and transferred to the airport. You’ll check in for your domestic flight while enjoying the sunrise. 07:30–09:30 am— You’ll enjoy a scenic flight over the Indian Ocean to Saadani National Park, with views of islands, mangroves, and coastal villages. 10:00–12:30 pm—You’ll have a morning game drive with a professional guide through grasslands, riverbanks, and acacia woodlands; spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and birds along the Wami River.

12:30–1:30 pm— You will enjoy a picnic or lodge-style lunch in a picturesque location inside the park. 1:30–3:30 pm— In the afternoon, you’ll have a game drive or guided beach walk where the bush meets the Indian Ocean, with opportunities to see coastal wildlife and birdlife. 4:00–6:00 pm— You’ll have a return flight to Zanzibar and hotel drop-off, completing a unique safari and coastal adventure in one day.
