Description

1-Day Mikumi Safari from Dar Es Salaam : Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania’s (and perhaps even one of East Africa’s) most underrated wildlife destinations. It is often compared to the world-famous Serengeti National Park in the country’s north. That’s partly because of the sheer number of animals you can see while you’re in Mikumi, and also because of the wide-open landscapes of Mikumi’s floodplains. But Mikumi gets only a small fraction of visitor numbers compared with the Serengeti, which can make for a truly magical experience. The park is also very easy to get to from Dar es Salaam, making it the perfect southern Tanzanian safari destination.

You’ll experience a thrilling full-day safari to Mikumi National Park with Marhaba Escape Safaris. Departing from Dar es Salaam, you’ll enjoy a scenic 2-hour train ride to Morogoro, followed by a 1.5-hour drive to the park. You’ll explore the vast savannah on a guided game drive, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, leopards, zebras, and more. After a packed lunch, you’ll continue your safari before returning to Dar es Salaam by 9:30 PM. Book now for an unforgettable adventure!

Itinerary:

Your journey begins early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or airport in Dar es Salaam. You’ll board a business-class SGR train for a scenic 1-hour ride to Morogoro, where our driver-guide will meet you for a 1.5-hour transfer to Mikumi. You’ll enjoy thrilling late morning and afternoon game drives, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, leopards, and more. A picnic lunch will be provided in the park, allowing you to relax while surrounded by stunning wildlife.

After an exciting day, your driver will take you back to Morogoro for your return SGR train to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, we’ll drop you off at your hotel or transfer you to the airport if you have a flight.
